The Prostate Center

The Prostate Center is the most experienced center in the area focused exclusively on the care of men with prostate cancer. The Prostate Center provides its patients with external beam radiation (radiation) treatment. Radiation therapy is a painless and precise series of daily radiation treatments directed at the prostate cancer to eradicate the cancer while minimizing damage to healthy tissue.

We provide the highest standard of care by offering a Fox Chase Radiation Oncologist, the area's most experienced and respected providers of radiation therapy for urological care. Fox Chase radiation oncologists were among the first to use intensity modulated radiation therapy with image guided radiation therapy, the technology currently utilized by The Prostate Center.

Pathology Lab

Few pathology laboratories have uropathology expertise, which is why Academic Urology developed their own pathology lab. Having a captive lab provides many advantages to the patients and the doctors:
Patients can be assured that the pathologists reviewing the biopsies have experience and expertise reviewing urological sample. This will aid in the early detection of cancer. Test results can be provided in a timely fashion which minimizes patient anxiety and wait time. Doctors have access to the Pathologists who performed the testing so the results can be discussed in person, if necessary. All of these factors lead to higher patient satisfaction and quality of care.
