About Academic Urology
Academic Urology of PA, LLC formed in 2007 when five urology practices serving patients in Philadelphia’s western and northern suburbs came together with two goals: to protect and enhance patient access to high quality integrated urologic care, and to create an organization that would help its urologists better provide that care.

Today, Academic Urology includes 36 urologists serving patients in and around 16 communities in Philadelphia’s suburbs and at many of the area’s leading hospitals.  In addition to its office locations, Academic Urology also has its own Prostate Center in King of Prussia, PA. The Prostate Center provides sophisticated treatment for prostate cancer, in conjunction with the Fox Chase Cancer Center using IMRT, IGRT, and now VMAT (Volumetric-Modulated Arc Therapy). Our Prostate Center also includes our own dedicated anatomic pathology laboratory. This allows for direct communication between treating Urologist and Pathologist to enhance diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Academic Urology is the largest urology practice in Pennsylvania, and the sixth largest in the United States.

As board-certified urologists, the physicians of Academic Urology have many years' experience in diagnosing and treating virtually every kind of urologic condition or disease.  Many of our doctors participate in clinical research and also serve as teachers for young physicians in training.  Within our medical staff, we have developed expertise in a wide range of urologic issues, including diseases of the prostate and bladder, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and other areas.  Several of our physicians are renown for their expertise in the use of minimally invasive, robotic surgery on the daVinci® Surgical System.

Academic Urology has an outstanding team of nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other professionals who support our patients’ clinical needs.  We understand the unique physical and emotional challenges of urologic disease, and have committed ourselves to helping our patients meet and overcome those challenges.
