Billing and Coding Specialist

Academic Urology seeks a certified coder (CPC or CUC) to perform ICD-10 billing in our corporate office located in King of Prussia, PA. Your primary duty will be to link appropriate CPT codes to diagnoses, ensure billing accuracy and resolve problems. Medical Office Receptionist

Full-time medical office receptionist needed for a busy medical/surgical practice in Pottstown, PA, with one day per week in our Phoenixville location. 3 years previous experience in a busy MEDICAL setting required. This is a fast-paced office and must be able to multi-task while maintaining excellent patient relations skills. Experience with computerized billing systems and electronic medical records required. Advance Prostate Care Center Medical Assistant

This is a fulltime position located in our King of Prussia office. 

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care

  • Coordinates patient care through the cancer continuum, assisting with timely access to care, coordination, facilitation of appointments and services.
  • Works closely with the Nurse Navigator to establish, maintain and implement a plan of care.
  • Establish and maintain close collaborate relationships with physicians and members of the cancer care team to ensure seamless patient care coordination.
  • Document patient interactions and plans, communicating with the Nurse Navigator in a timely manner.
  • Provide clinical coverage in Radiation Oncology as needed.

Oncolytic Dispensing Program

  • Confirm patients’ clinical eligibility
  • Perform prior authorizations
  • Input patient data into software system (QS1)
  • Prescription submission
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Accurately label all medications
  • Fedex medication to office or patient’s home
  • Monitor for refills

APC Infusion Program

  • Obtain prior authorizations

Data Analytics

  • Maintain patient data flow sheets for those in the program
  • Utilize data analytic software for patient identification and followup

Education and Experience

  • Certified Medical Technician, 5+ years
  • CPR certified preferred
  • Clinical experience in urology or radiation therapy required
  • Strong computer skills, must know Word and Excel

Physician Assistant

We're delighted to announce that we have a physician assistant position available with a 4-physician and 2-extender urology practice in West Chester, Paoli and Coatesville, PA.

The job is full-time, five days a week, with option to work on weekends.

Duties will include inpatient hospital rounds and patient care at Chester County, Paoli and Brandywine Hospitals, as well as outpatient visits in our branch offices. Outpatient focus will be on advanced prostate cancer as well as general urology, including post-op visits. Candidate must be able to develop and maintain positive relationships with referring physicians, hospital staff, and office staff.

Our practice is busy and fast-paced with a diverse patient base. Local public schools are excellent, including a top-ranked STEM high school, and Chester County is an excellent place to raise a family. We offer a competitive salary and benefit package, with the opportunity for a productivity bonus.

Salary: $75,000.00 to $100,000.00 /year



Summary: Review charges submitted by providers for accuracy and proper reimbursement and bill in
practice management system.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Effectively and efficiently work with ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS reference books for proper billing.
  • Code ICD-10 diagnoses, links appropriate diagnoses with CPT procedure codes, and corrects any incorrect coding by provider.
  • Provide feedback to providers in instances of coding-related problems.
  • Back-up and assist other department personnel as directed.
  • Perform data entry, ensuring billing accuracy and resolve data entry problems.
  • Assist with billing problems and concerns.
  • Ensure that all charge tickets assigned are accounted for and billed with the correct CPT/ICD-10 codes.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Demonstrate and exemplify behavior consistent with Academic Urology’s core values – service excellence, integrity, team, continuous improvement, accountability, fulfillment, fun.
  • Attend assigned meetings or functions as specified by the Billing Manager.
  • Maintain knowledge of company policies and procedures, HIPAA, OSHA and other related regulations and guidelines, and ensure department compliance.
  • Attend and complete all required training and development to include annual compliance training.
  • Perform additional duties as needed.

Experience and Education

  • Experience with electronic charge capture required.
  • Experience with Medevolve or similar Practice System required.
  • Experience with Ceresoft or similar Denial Management System helpful.
  • Experience with Excel, Word
  • Coding Certification, preferred not required
  • 3 years medical office experience
  • High School Diploma required, some college preferred

Job Duties:

  • Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval prior to payment
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail
  • Process P.O. matching invoices
  • Prioritize invoices according to cash discount potential and payment terms
  • Process check requests
  • Calculate and process monthly distributions
  • Prepare monthly board reports
  • Audit and process credit card bills
  • Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks and distribute checks accordingly
  • 1099 maintenance
  • Sales and Use Tax
  • Respond to all vendor inquiries
  • Reconcile vendor statements, research and correct discrepancies
  • Reconcile monthly bank statements
  • Assist in month end closing
  • Maintain files and documentation thoroughly and accurately, in accordance with company policy and accepted accounting practices
  • Assist with other projects as needed
