| Stephen R. Walker, M.D., FACS, graduated Magna Cum Laude from Muhlenberg College and then attended medical school at Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia. After completing two years of General Surgery Residency at Lehigh Valley Hospital Center in Allentown, PA, he returned to Thomas Jefferson University Hospital for a 4 year Urology Residency. In 1989, he joined Associates in Urology.
While providing the full range of urologic care to his patients, Dr. Walker has developed a strong interest in Urologic Oncology- particularly prostate, kidney, and bladder cancer, as well as kidney stone disease. He trained with an international authority in the minimally invasive treatment of kidney stones, and has extensive experience in the use of the latest modalities for the treatment of kidney stones including Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy, Ureteroscopy, and Percutaneous procedures. He also uses medical therapy when appropriate for the prevention of kidney stones.
Dr. Walker shows care and compassion to his patients, and is concerned that his patients are well informed and are active participants in their care. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Urology, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is a member of many professional organizations including the American Urologic Associations, American Associations of Clinical Urologists, and Urological Association of PA, Pennsylvania Medical Society, and the Delaware County Medical Society. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Urology at Temple University.
